"My name is Vanda Pavlicová (aka Mushkiwi) and I'm an artist based in Czech Republic. My art journey stared when I was just a barely speaking little kid and it turned out to be a lifelong passion. I attended high school of arts and continued studying art history in college and after two years changed my subject to aesthetics. Also for over a decade I am frequently present as an "apprentice" in an atelier of an academic painter, who remains my mentor and inspiration.
In my artworks, you can catch glimpses of my artistic upbringing having been taught in classical themes like still life, landscape and figure, though landscapes always held my special interest. There is a particulary breathtaking beauty in being surrounded by the pure force of nature sailing the banks of mountain rivers and echoing through winded cliffs that also created those delicate flowers, you are sitting next to. It is a breathtaking beauty, next to which a human being seems so so small.
I belive art is like a language that can connect centuries and speak in ways no plain words are able to. Like a mirror of ourselves and the zeitgeist. Like a riddle of what we see and what remains hidden. Like a bond between us and anything beyond."
